What is Geography?

 What is Geography? A simple explanation....

Geography is the study of places (their physical features). human interactions and their impact on the environment.



Therefore the term "Geography" actually contains three segments within it viz. physical, human and environmental.



Physical Geography looks at landforms, vegetation and atmosphere.

 

Human Geography comprises people and how they are distributed over an area (population), where and how they live (settlements) and what they do to earn a living (economy).



Environmental Geography peeps in to the natural resources and scenery and probes in to how people use/exploit resources and what we could do to manage and make sustainable use of them.
